Park and Ride

Despite repeated denials that the Adelaide Showgrounds Station would not be marketed as  park and ride this is exactly what the Labor government has announced today will be developed at the showgrounds. The idea of such a facility is to not only encourage people to use public transport but to also keep cars out of the inner suburbs. How parking a car at Wayville rather than driving it a kilometre
or two extra into the city reduces or even has the potential to reduce congestion on Goodwood Rd is unfathomable. This one really needs more thinking.

    I think the real reason is so that the Showgrounds can make a killing with parking fees during the show and other events.
