Canterbury and Parker Tce

Residents will be pleased to know that the planting of the trees in Canterbury Tce and Parker Tce is now imminent. The variety chosen by the majority of residents (chosen from a very short list provided by Council and DPTI) is the Pyrus calleryana 'chanticleer'. They will certainly make a difference to how the streets appear at the moment.

  1. I don't think these trees are big enough for Canterbury.
    Please arrange for bigger ones.

  2. While I agree with you these are as large as DPTI will allow next to the rail infrastructure. This is hideously ugly but even a coat of charcoal paint at Clarence Park station was denied

  3. I hope the trees are not deciduous.
If they are, then another type must be selected.

  4. They are deciduous as a pyrus is a pear tree .

  5. That's right, however, this species is the one chosen by residents.
