I have represented the Ward in 1995-7 and again from 2006 to the present time. I find being your representative on Council to be very rewarding. Please find out more about current items that I think are of interest as well as my achievements for the Ward and plans for the future.

Damming Mitcham

I believe there was a segment last night on Channel 7 on this matter.
ReplyDeleteMyself and many other Mitcham residents find this latest stunt of the pro-dam brigade to be highly insulting. Placing a "curse" on an entire council electorate is not going to sway anyone's opinion, and leads one to conclude that the people behind this banner are not worth listening to.
ReplyDeleteI guess the answer is in the spelling! To call something dammed is simply to ask that a weir or dam is constructed in a creek. If it were a curse the spelling would be damned and the meaning quite different. I have no connection with any group supporting or not a dam, I was reporting actual events I thought were of interest to my constituents.
ReplyDeleteThis blog simply reports what I have heard and seen that may affect Unley residents. There is no shame as an Unley Councillor to support a view that recognises that I have listened to Unley resident concerns. I have a very clear understanding of the impact of both the dam and no dam proposal will have in both Mitcham and Unley.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting that the SOCKET group have now changed their tactics and removed the "MITCHAM BE DAMMED" slur from their propaganda.
ReplyDeleteProbably a good idea but seems they are just as committed as ever to get a dam built rather than deepening and widening the current creek bed as it runs through any individual property.
