Activity Program

In partnership with local businesses and community groups, we are pleased to offer a range of Unley Active activities for you to try. View the list of free or low-cost activities below and register your interest today!
  • Dance to Stay Young Program | Mondays
    Dance to Stay Young Program at Goodwood Community Centre

    When:  Every Monday from 1.30pm-2.30pm

    Where:  Banquet Hall, Goodwood Community Centre, Rosa St, Goodwood

    Activity details: You don’t stop dancing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop dancing!  Dancing is a great way to keep active and socialise with others. This program is suitable for individuals and groups. Participants are encouraged to bring their own music for a freestyle dance segment.

    Cost: $7 per person, per session

  • No Lights No Lycra, Goodwood | Thursdays
    No Lights No Lycra, Goodwood

    When: Thursdays, 7:15pm for 7:30pm start (60 mins)

    Where: Goodwood Community Centre, Rosa Street, Goodwood

    Activity details: No Lights No Lycra is a weekly lights-off chance to dance in the dark for the pure joy of dancing. It’s a place to shake out the stresses of the week, let go of your inhibitions and completely be yourself. We're part of a global community providing an inclusive and non-judgmental space to move.  Car parking and toilets available.  All ages and fitness levels welcome and lycra is totally ok!

    Cost: $7 per session

    Outdoor Bootcamp for All Ages and Abilities

    When: Sunday 24 September and Sunday 1 October,  9.00am – 10.00am

    Where: Unley Oval, Trimmer Tce, Unley

  • Calling all Mums! Come and Try Fitness Session | 29 Sept – 1 Dec
    Come and Try fitness session with Mums Exercise Group Australia


    When: 10.30am Fridays. Starting 29 September until 1 December

    Where:  Life Church Glen Osmond, 312 Glen Osmond Rd, Myrtle Bank

    Activity details: Calling all mums! Get back into fitness with other like-minded ladies. FREE weekly mum's circuit/bootcamp session at Life Church Glen Osmond run by a qualified personal trainer (and mother of two!). All fitness levels catered for and children under 18yrs welcome!

    Mums Exercise Group Australia (MEGA) is a social enterprise empowering mothers and helping them to improve their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.

    MEGA aims to ensure that no mother is isolated from the community and that every woman is empowered to look after their health and wellbeing. Through very low-cost fitness and wellbeing training options, and sponsored memberships for women facing hardship, MEGA aims to give every mother in Australia access to fitness and wellbeing classes that will improve their health and provide the resilience and support they need to thrive in life.

    MEGA is a community free from judgement or negativity; we believe a supportive community can help every woman feel good about themselves.
  • Goodwood Walking Group | commencing 3 October
    Goodwood Walking Group – hosted by Unley Physiotherapy

    When: every Tuesday from 9.30 – 10.30am, commencing Tuesday 3 October

    Where: Walks depart from Unley Physiotherapy, 309 Goodwood Road, Kings Park.

    Activity details:  This is a new walking group, departing from our Goodwood Road, Kings Park practice. The walking group aims to provide exercise in a group environment to benefit from group motivation and socialisation. Everyone is welcome, regardless of your ability or fitness level.

    We also have an established Walking Group departing from Unley Physiotherapy located at 160 Unley Rd, Unley.

    Activity details: Baby ballet/music and movement with Diva the funk fairy. For children aged 1 - 5 years. 30min session. Enhance your child’s learning and growth with a fun and exciting class filled with colours, songs and sensory play!

    Activity details: Kids will learn the funkiest of Hip Hop moves incorporating Street and Urban styles, whilst improving their coordination, confidence and creativity. Our Juniorz will learn cool moves, tricks and amazing choreography that will be way too cute to handle!

    Hip Hop Funkster’s 8-12 years

    Activity details: Our Hip Hop Funksterz class makes kids feel like they’re in their own music video! Our Funksterz will learn the coolest moves, tricks and choreography to the funkiest age-appropriate tracks, whilst developing the foundations of Hip Hop, Street and Urban styles of dance. This class is full of FUN! 30 min session.

  • Come and Try Karate! | 6 & 13 October
    Come and Try Karate!

    When:  Friday 6 and 13 October

    Location:  Roxy Centre, 1/80-86 Anzac Hwy, Everard Park

    Activity details:  Meet the Oceanía and Australian champion in a workshop where you will learn basic self-defence! Discover what Karate Do is and how you and your children can benefit from its practice. We will run a short session where participants can learn about Karate philosophy, basic Japanese words and counting and practice four basic Karate techniques.
    Three sessions will be offered for various age groups as follows:
    • Children ages 4 to 7 (4-4.45 pm)
    • Children aged 8 to 13 (5-5.45 pm)
    • People over 50 years old (6-6.45pm).

     *Limited to 10 places per session*

    Cost: Golden coin donation. (That will be destined towards the fundraising of Carlos Maya Olympic preparation)

  • 'Roll and Recover' Workshop for Runners | 7 October
    'Roll and Recover' Workshop For Runners – Hosted by Kinfolk Physiotherapy & Wellness

    When: Saturday 7 October, 3.15 – 4.15pm

    Where: Fullarton Park Community Centre, Parkview Room, Corner Fisher St and Fullarton Rd, Fullarton.

    Activity details: Learn how to use a foam roller to optimise recovery, maintain flexibility and decrease the risk of injury. Limited to 12 participants. Workshop is for runners of all abilities.

  • Nordic Walking “Come and Try” Session | Various Dates
    Nordic Walking “Come and Try” Session

    When: Wednesday 11.30am - 12.20pm (approx.50 mins) on the following dates:
    11 October 2017
    14 February 2018
    18 April 2018
    27 June 2018

    Where:  Fullarton Park Community Centre

    Activity Details: Nordic Walking is a form of fitness walking using specially designed poles and a learned technique to produce a low impact, high results, total body workout. Nordic Walking is for everyone regardless of age, fitness level or chronic conditions.

    The session aims to provide an understanding of the benefits of Nordic Walking and an opportunity to experiencing the feel and potential applications of the poles.
    All welcome. Limit 12 people per class.

  • Come and Try Barre | 12 October
    Come and Try Barre  – hosted by Physio Pilates Proactive

    When:  Thursday 12 October, 7.45-8.45pm

    Where: Physio Pilates Proactive, 86 Glen Osmond Rd, Parkside

    Activity Details:  An intermediate level class that moves quickly from one exercise into another, creating a powerful, flowing routine.
    Efficient. Effective. Fun. Set to music, Barre classes incorporate traditional Pilates sequences along with some ballet type moves. Mostly done standing at the Barre, classes are great for toning of glutes, legs and abdominals. A unique and creative program that is energising and uplifting. Participants need to be reasonably healthy, with no acute injuries, do not have osteoporosis and are not pregnant.

  • Come & Try Croquet at Hyde Park Croquet Club | 22 October
    Come & Try Croquet

    When: 4pm start, Sunday 22 October

    Where: Hyde Park Croquet Club, 8 Northgate St, Unley Park

    Activity details: Come and take part in a game of croquet in a group of 4 with an experienced instructor. Casual dress, flat soled shoes. Equipment provided. Finishing at approximately 6pm, to be followed by a sausage sizzle with bar facilities available.

  • Come and Try Men’s Pilates | 6 November
    Come and Try Men’s Pilates – hosted by Physio Pilates Proactive

    When: Monday 6 November,  6.45-7.45pm

    Where: Physio Pilates Proactive, 86 Glen Osmond Rd, Parkside

    Activity details: Want to be more flexible and improve your core? Pilates is a great way of stretching out tight muscles, mobilizing stiff joints and strengthening your abdominals. If you sit at a desk all day, play sport or just want to improve your posture, come and try a Pilates mat class. Taught in a non-threatening manner for complete Beginners, you can see what all the women have been talking about! And by the way, the Crows and Port football players do Pilates! This class is strictly for men only and is for any fitness level
