Did you know that 109 years ago the tram lines in Unley and Parkside were electrified? Horse drawn trams ran in the area from around 1879 and were replaced with electric trams in November 1909.
Electric trams operated in Unley, Parkside Goodwood and Hyde Park, in 1950 there were 8 tramlines around the city. After this time trams were gradually replaced by buses. The last tram went down Unley road in 1957.
