Unley's Own Returning Home - opens 9 May 2019
In 2017 the
City of Unley and Flinders University embarked on a joint project to find out
more about the men from Unley who served in the 27th Battalion in WWI.
Honours student Sandra Kearney took up the challenge and spent a year
exploring the lives and experiences of the soldiers of the 27th.
The result is
this exhibition, based on the thesis, Unley's Own - Returning Home.
This intimate exhibition explores the personal stories of 15 soldiers of the
27th Australian Infantry Battalion as they returned home to resume their
lives after service on the front during WWI.
Their stories
are told through photographs, objects, service records and anecdotal stories
shared by their families.
Join us for
the launch of this fascinating exhibition and hear from Sandra Kearney about
her journey.

I have represented the Ward in 1995-7 and again from 2006 to the present time. I find being your representative on Council to be very rewarding. Please find out more about current items that I think are of interest as well as my achievements for the Ward and plans for the future.
