The trees in the pictures are the only two remaining from the original black forest after which the suburb was named (eucalyptus mycrocarpia). These trees are on privately owned property that abuts the Black Forest Primary School Oval (Forest Ave Reserve). Local resident, Kate Hubmayer, fears that when the property is sold it will be suitable for redevelopment and that the trees may be lost. I will ask Council to produce a report that outlines various strategies that might be employed to protect the trees. I have asked FOCUS for their support and have visited the site with members of this group.
