ANZAC Morning.

The dawn crowd

 At 6am this morning thousands of people gathered at the Memorial Gardens for the Unley Dawn Service. As always it was a moving event. The numbers attending seem to grow each year and many (maybe most) are young.
Afterwards I attended breakfast with the Goodwood Scouts and Guides in Clarence Park.This was an enjoyable morning event for all who attended.

  1. What a lovely letter from a resident;
    Sincere thanks to the Council and all concerned with the organization of the Dawn Service this morning. For many years I have attended either the War Memorial or the Mitcham services but find the standing for long periods of time uncomfortable. To find seating and the ambience of the Memorial Gardens a sincere and respectful occasion.All the volunteers also deserve recognition and appreciation for their service.
    The muffled Church bells was a fitting tribute to those who did not return from wars.

    Thank you so much,
